The Pinetum was established as the National Conifer Collection in 1925 and now has the most complete collection of conifers on one site anywhere in the world. The collection has over 10,000 tree specimens growing in 320 acres, including rare, historically important and endangered trees. It contains some of the oldest and largest examples of conifers in Britain. With evergreen needleleaf forest making up 20% of the Earth's forests (UNEP), conifers and their close relatives make a significant contribution to climate stability and CO2 uptake.

The new visitor centre offers visitors information about the Collection itself and the surrounding 2000 acre forest. The centre is built from sustainably sourced wood and is heated using carbon neutral woodchip. The Pantry cafe offers refreshments while other rooms may be used for educational purposes.

Bedgebury now has over 10km of newly surfaced family cycle track, over 12km of single-track mountain biking and a Professionally designed 'Freeride' area with challenging jumps and stunts to test your ability and skill. There are also a variety of exciting play areas for children including The Shipwreck and the Mighty Tree House.
