Thornham Field Centre
Thornham Field Centre is an independent charitable trust which provides outdoor education mainly for primary schools, but we are available to other groups when not being used by schools. Our aim is to raise peoples awareness of their relationship with the natural world while improving personal confidence and teamworking skills. The Field Centre works alongside Thornham Walks who manage 12 miles of permissive walks available to the public.
Set within a varied habitat of woodland, parkland and natural grazing meadows near the village of Thornham Magna, the Centre consists of two meeting rooms, two Swedish log cabins for residential groups and the Forge Cafe, which serves refreshments throughout the day. Almost all of our educational activities with children takes place outside Nearby is the Thornham Walled Garden, which is also run by the Thornham Field Centre Trust where people with disabilities can take part in hortitherapy. The whole enterprise encourages and promotes sustainable living and hopes all visitors will make small life style changes to this effect.
