The Ecotech Centre in Swaffham, West Norfolk, combines sustainability education with entertainment in a futuristic and welcoming setting. Famous for its huge 220 ft. wind turbine, the Centre itself is the largest timber framed buiding in the UK, harnessing natural sunlight for heat and light through a large glazed atrium.

Inside, facilities include the Orchard Cafe which serves a wide range of Fairtrade, organic and locally sourced food, an exhibition on sustainable living, the 100 seat Icenima which can also be used as a lecture theatre and a suite of rooms for workshops and meetings. Around the Centre are 4 acres of landscaped organic gardens with containing a heritage seed area and wildlife pond.

Many people come to Ecotech to climb the 300 steps up the wind turbine to the viewing platform - the only one of its kind in Europe. The from here the views across Norfolk and the Fens are fantastic while the turbine whirs away producing 1/3 of Swaffhams electricity needs.

The Ecotech Centre is a very versatile place providing educational visits to schools using specially developed programmes, sustainability and environmental themes being our speciality. For the business user we have superb conferencing facilities and venue hire. The Icenima has regular film screenings and a licensed bar. Ecotech has something for everyone and makes a great day out.
